Olympic Protest?

I find this absolutely stupid. They are complaining about the advertising by big companies in the Olympics and how it isn't about sports. Well, go ahead and try to fund the Olympics without the money put into it by big companies. The Olympics cost a lot of money and it is very rare that an Olympic game will make a profit for the hosting city. Just because there is advertising by big companies does not mean you have to buy the product. You are not a sheep, if you don't like it, fine, don't buy it. But don't be stupid and turn advertising that is funding the Olympics into a political issue and still claim to support the sports venue.

Agreed. If it were possible to have a sponsorless Olympics, I think we'd all agree that that would be best. But that just isn't possible. So we deal. I just don't like people using the Olympics (which has no agenda) to push their agendas. It is against the spirit of community that the Olympics fosters.
